All our Staff whether full time or part time are fully insured and bonded with Parrot ‘n’ Pet Sitting Services. In order for us to insure our staff, they much pass not only our own in depth hiring processes, but they MUST pass a full Police Check with Durham Regional Police and we must have all paperwork from this Police Check on file. Our insurance company also requires a copy for their records. You can rest easy – knowing we have the BEST staff proving the BEST pet care services!
We provide at this time, only “private” dog walking services. This means your dog will receive 100% full one-on-one attention during his or her walk.
In the past, we have had clients ask if we would be willing to “team-up” and create a self made “group” of dogs for daily walks. We are very flexible in being able to provide “self-created” services for our clients, but only are able to do so if it is feasible. We only offer a small discount for more then 3 dogs in a group walk and only if all 3 dogs are located on the same street and or neighborhood. It’s always best to contact us with your “ideas” and we will be able to give you a better idea of how we can help.
No. We are here to provide dog walking, pet sitting, mid-day visits, puppy visits and vacation pet visits to homes in our service area no matter how many visits are booked and no matter the frequency. Even if you only require visits occasionally, but wish to become a client so you have a back up plan for your pet’s care – we are your number #1 choice for professional dog walking, pet sitting, mid-day visits and vacation pet care visits in Durham Region! No matter how often you need us!
A very good question!. We accept ALL BREEDS of dogs ONLY IF they are accepting of strangers coming into their home and that the individual dog ( especially naturally protective breeds ) does not and has not displayed protective displays of aggression toward strangers. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept any dog in which the owner and our staff feel may be capable of fearful and or aggressive related attacks. With specific breeds – as much as we love them – it is our policy to ask certain questions relating to the breeds behaviors during our initial phone consultation, if we pass this phase, we perform a full temperament test at our consultation and then with you not home to secure a place as a regular or occasional client. This helps to protect you, our staff and your best friend. If you are unsure, please call us anyways – we’d be happy to help!
As a general rule we do not offer same day – or last minute bookings – The reason for this is that our staff service many clients daily all over the Durham Region area and scheduling our staff is a full time job. All our staff leave the office every morning by 8am and generally return from their regular day by 4pm in which our evening visits start for our part time staff. It is not always possible to both A) Collect last minute requests, B) Schedule Them, C) Re-organize one of our staff’s day’s to accommodate a last minute request. Our policy is that we must receive your request for services with 24 hours notice, which gives us plenty of time re-organize our staff’s schedule. If you happen to call us for last minute requests, we cannot guarantee, nor should it be expected that we will receive your request.
You will receive a confirmation from us via email. If you did NOT receive a confirmation from us by end of our business day, then it is likely either you made your request after our business hours and we have not received your request and will do so by 8am the next business day – Or we did not receive your request and you should call the office. Please read carefully the content of our booking policies ( received at your consultation ) and the content on the online booking form.
For regular weekly clients – Payments are due at the beginning of services payable in full for the services you ordered for the current week. For Vacationing clients – payments are due in our office 1 week in advance to the date in which you leave for your holiday. If booking last min vacations – payments are due at the time of booking. Canceled appointments as per our policy are kept as a credit to use towards next service/s. We accept cash, cheque or direct deposit via online email transfers.
